MIND COACH

Adela Baker, founder of Mind Coach, was ready to rebrand in 2022. For visual branding and a new website, she turned to design firm Also Known As, who brought me on to develop a brand voice and web copy that expresses Adela’s sophistication, expertise, and trademark enthusiastic. From this solid brand foundation, I wrote a new, engaging sales page and UX copy for web forms and CTAs, all focusing on clarity, tone, and usability. Collaborating with Also Known As Studio’s designers and with the founder, I ensured information hierarchy, buttons, CTAs, confirmation text, and email flow all supported intuitive next steps.

A return client, I had originally helped strategize, write, and produce blog and social media content for Adela’s brand in 2018.

DR. SUMA MADDOX

Dr. Suma Maddox, one of New Orleans’ premier aesthetic and reconstructive surgeons, wanted a website that would express her passion and elevated aesthetic eye. After developing a brand voice and messaging that is feminine, warm, and conveys Dr. Maddox’s expertise, I wrote elegant copy for the Also Known As Studios-designed website, as well as SEO-optimized blog posts and cross-platform marketing used across print magazine advertisements and social media.

New orleans auction galleries

For New Orleans Auction Galleries, I write poetic, engaging Instagram captions in the brand’s voice that effectively capture the mood of each auction. I also proofread auction catalogues. Stepping in during the in-house copywriter’s absence, I conducted research and interviews for long-form articles on estates, collections, and collectibles for the catalogues.

FEBE

Collaborating with Also Known As Studios on a brand refresh for women’s clothing boutique FEBE, I designed an elevated brand voice and UX-informed website copy. My service included brand voice guidelines to ensure cohesion across platforms, a clearer ethos and narrative behind brand messaging, and an SEO-optimized shoppable blog that I created on Shopify.

Also Known As Studios
(FORMERLY MINMOO STUDIO)

Working as brand copywriter with creative agency Minmoo Studio — who rebranded as Also Known As Studio in 2022 — I developed the brand voice, tagline, and marketing copy for dozens of brands, start-ups, restaurants, boutique hotels, and service providers. I also helped refresh the creative studio’s own brand voice and website copy.

LEKHA

For lifestyle brand Lekha, I interviewed women for quarterly blog posts, crafted email marketing newsletters, wrote poetic website copy, product descriptions, and social media content, and collaborated with team members via Planoly. When Lekha underwent a brand refresh and website redesign in 2023, I collaborated with Lekha founder and the design team at Ganza to enrich the brand voice (moving from all lowercase to sentence case), establish new brand voice guidelines, and write researched articles on sustainability practices.

Dear Valentine

Dear Valentine wanted to set themselves apart within the boutique hospitality space. Collaborating with the brand’s founder and design team at Also Known As Studios, I crafted a poetic brand voice and messaging that captures the romance of travel. I also created social captions for the brand launch and web copy, including marketing copy for B2B partners in the renovation and design of the homes.

MARSE

For MARSE, a boutique textile brand, I developed a highly poetic brand voice and wrote website content, social media content, and print and digital marketing collateral, including e-mail newsletters and print newspapers to launch the brand’s first collection.

AIMEE LACALLE

From 2016 to 2019, I traveled with Santa Fe-based textile brand AIMEE LACALLE to France’s Dordogne Valley and Savannah, Georgia to interview local artists and makers. These interviews served as the inspiration behind the brand’s collections, and — once crafted into a clear narrative that connected the dots between place, art, design, and the textile product — were published on the brand’s blog and in each collection’s print lookbook. I later joined the team as copywriter, helping strategize on information hierarchy and crafting form UX, button/field microcopy for improved product inquiry flow, and automated email responses, ensuring clarity, brand voice cohesion, and tone consistency. On the marketing side, I developed and wrote narrative short film scripts, social media campaigns, and PR outreach. In 2019, I took on the additional role of web project manager, collaborating across a remote international team, including designers in Russia, stakeholders in the U.S., production in Santa Fe, and a showroom in Mexico.

SUCRÉ

Under the creative direction of Minmoo Studio, I crafted a refined brand voice, new e-commerce web and UX copy, and social media launch campaign for the triumphant return of Sucré to New Orleans. With new ownership in 2020, it was important for this beloved New Orleans gelato shop to be transformed into an elevated destination dessert and coffee boutique, through voice and visuals alike. I created their tag line, “La Nouvelle Orleans,” to reflect the brand’s Francophone roots.

ARCHITECTURE AND INTERIOR DESIGN FIRMS

Architecture firms CICADA, MADE Design, and Studio By Day hired me to revitalize their brand voice and write new website copy, including highly technical service and project descriptions. For Studio By Day, I also managed their social media account, collaborating remotely with their team to create on-brand content and increase audience engagement.

In 2023, Studio By Day partnered with interior design studio Tiek & Co. to form Tiek By Day, a multidisciplinary architecture and interior design firm. Having worked with both teams before, I was asked to create a distinct brand voice and website copy to reflect their aesthetic and vision.

SALON22

For Salon22, a coworking space in New Orleans, I developed the brand voice and brand messaging. I wrote website copy — including UX-informed form text, button copy, and email flow, to reduce user confusion and support form completion — and the brand’s social media launch campaign. I also created their tagline: “For women, for the future.”

RANDY FERTEL

Author and philanthropist Randy Fertel hired me in 2020 to provide developmental and line edits on what would become his third book, Winging It: Improv’s Power and Peril in the Time of Trump. The book was published in 2024, at which time he hired me as his social media marketing manager. I strategized, designed, filmed, edited, and produced his organic and promoted posts across Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X, Bluesky, and LinkedIn. Writing in Randy’s voice and engaging thoughtfully with his audience, I created a number of reels that received over 10,000 views and successfully drew hundreds of visitors to his website. (Viewers love when he talks about restaurants, New Orleans, and Mardi Gras.)

In fall of 2024 we created a Substack, “Yes And: Essays in the Age of Improv," to help grow Randy’s audience and position him for selling and marketing his fourth book, currently in progress. Within a year of working together on his online presence, we tripled his Instagram following and nurtured his relationship with 6,300+ Substack subscribers in order to solidify his author platform for the next book.

TRIPP FRIEDLER

Writer Tripp Friedler and I collaborated over several months on global edits and detailed line edits for his first memoir, the gut-wrenching story of his son’s struggle with bipolar disorder.

CLAUDIA BARKER

For Claudia Barker, who is at work on a memoir about surviving sexual abuse at the hands of a trusted high school teacher, we collaborated on an author website, a website for her advocacy work called Minors Can’t Consent, a Substack, and an increased social media presence.

KALI RUBAII

An anthropologist, professor, writer, and activist, Dr. Kali Rubaii wanted a professional online home to house her work and research. It was important for her website to be easily modifiable, so she can add article publications or books as they develop. I created a simple Squarespace templated website to meet her needs, and helped craft the messaging around her work.
